Snatched as an infant from the Island of Long, in the county of Nassau, and taken to live in a foreign location, I was soon assaulted by mouth-watering scents and intoxicating visions of steaming Sicilian squares, spumoni, and (mostly) beautiful, friendly Brooklynites. Eventually, I came to love this menagerie of new delights, terrors and wonders.
